Installing and Configuring ITCAM for Apps 6.2.2: Peoplesoft Domain Agent FP1 on Linux/Unix
Installation and configuration of the agent on Unix/Linux is similar to Windows with a few more steps. The demo environment for this post will be a Red Hat machine with PeopleTools 8.48.
Installation
Run the install script from the installation media. You are asked which option you would like to perform. Choose 1) Install products to the local host: Select one of the following: Read the agreement and choose 1 if you agree:
1) Install products to the local host. 2) Install products to depot for remote deployment (requires TEMS). 3) Install TEMS support for remote seeding 4) Exit install.

As a reminder, you should install product support on each of your TEM servers for any agents you have just installed. This is done via the "/opt/IBM/ITM/bin/itmcmd support" command on your TEM servers.
You may now configure any locally installed IBM Tivoli Monitoring product via the "/opt/IBM/ITM/bin/itmcmd config" command.
Configuration
Now we can configure our newly installed agent. Start the configuration by running the following command in your CANDLEHOME/bin directory: ./itmcmd config -A p8 You will be asked to enter a descriptive instance name: Agent configuration started... After entering the configuration options for your environment, you need to also enter the connection settings for your TEMS. After that, you need to preserve the PeopleTools environment for the user account that is running both PeopleSoft and eventually the agents (they must be the same user). To do this, you must edit the .profile for that user. Add the following line: . [ITM home]/[platform code]/[product code]/bin/preserve_pt_environment.sh Where [ITM home] is the IBM Tivoli installation directory, [platform code] is the code for the operating system, and [product code] is the product code for the agent (P8 or P9). Congratulations, the configuration is complete! Make sure to switch to the same user that PeopleSoft is running on before starting the agents.
