Installing ITM Server Application support for the ITCAM for Apps 6.2.2 PeopleSoft Windows Agent(s)
In this post we’ll focus on the installation steps required to load application support of the PeopleSoft Agent(s) into your Windows ITM Server infrastructure – ie, TEMS, TEPS, TEPD, etc.
Note: The following post describes the installation of ITM application support for the PeopleSoft Domain agent. The instructions are identical for the PeopleSoft Scheduler agent. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Application support, it is best to bring your TEMS/TEPS/TEPD down to ensure that the upgrade is successful.
In our demo environment, we are installing the PeopleSoft Domain agent on a MS Windows 2003 Server that is an “all-in-one” ITM Server containing DB2, TEMS, TEPS, TEPD, and TDW so we click setupwin32.exe.
To locate the setup file, navigate to the installation media's root directory.
In the root directory you will find a sub-directory called "Windows". This is the directory that contains the setup file.
This is an example of the what you should see when looking for the setup file, you'll want to double click the setup file to start the installation process.
An installer will pop up and will display any previously installed application support. You will see this if you are upgrading your system from the 6.2.1 application support to 6.2.2 application support - or if you are installing the application support for a second agent.
Click next to continue.
The next dialog that you will see will display all of the available packages that you can install. Ensure that all packages that you want installed are checked.
The most common option is to install the packages for TEMS/TEPS/TEPD.
Select the packages that you would like to install and click next to continue.
The next dialog box will ask you if you want to configure the agents for remote deployment. If you want to be able to remote deploy select this option . For the most part however, I choose this.
In the next dialog we will be prompted with a warning box, that says "You will not be able to cancel the installation / upgrade after this point. Are you sure you want to continue?"
If you are sure you want to continue, and most of us are, than click "yes" to continue.
This dialog displays all of the actions that you want to occur at installation and post-installation. I prefer to select all options at this phase, just to make sure that everything gets configured with the new application support.
Select your items of choice and click next to continue.
In this dialog we will provide our hostname for our TEMS/TEPS/TEPD "all-in-one" server. For our example our hostname is TW3G7. If this is an upgrade the hostname should be provided, and if not you will need to enter it.
Click next to continue.
A dialog will pop up asking where you want to add application support ( Where the TEMS is located. ) Since, in this example, we are doing a local installation of the tems, I have selected "On this computer"
Click OK to proceed.
In the next dialog there will be a message saying that the installation could take 20 minutes. Be sure to take this into account, and be patient. When the installation is done you will be prompted with a configuration dialog.
This is the configuration dialog, for example we go with the default settings.
Click Okay
The final dialog asks you if you want to display the Readme file for the agent. This is up to you, however I would suggest it :)
That concludes the installation of application support for ITCAM on a Windows TEMS/TEPS/TEPD. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a note at jeremy.rowe@bluemedora.com
