  • "Per host" Configurable timeout values that allow administrators to tailor the ping scans for their particular environments
  • Highly configurable allowing many thousands of hosts to be added to the "host file" or via standard ITM agent configuration panels

Blue Medora Agent for Ping Probe has been designed from the ground up to look, feel, and operate like existing IBM-developed ITM agents in terms of ITM remote deployment, manageability via ITM command-line utilities, and installation and configuration.

When combined with the TCR Report Package for the Blue Medora Agent for Ping Probe administrators are able to quickly and easily generate high level reports detailing the overall availability of their environment over days, weeks, months and years as well as drill down to the availability of individual hosts to determine when specific outages are occurring.

Blue Medora Agent for Ping Probe:

  • Takes advantage of ITM's Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) visualization capabilities to include best practices, expert advice, customized workspaces, and historical data gathering.
  • Integrates with Tivoli Data Warehouse (TDW) to provide ITDS-focused historical data collection and analysis.
  • Provides the ability to send application-specific events to Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) and Netcool OMNIbus for advanced correlation and automation.

  • Is validated by IBM as Ready for IBM Tivoli.

Requirement for pre-existing IBM Tivoli Monitoring agent

Blue Medora ITM Agents require a pre-existing IBM published agent be installed prior to Blue Medora ITM Agent installation.  The Blue Medora Agent for Ping Probe does not ship IBM specific Java™,  IBM GSkit, or the IBM Tivoli Monitoring runtime libraries. Installing an IBM-provided agent (normally an OS agent) installs these elements.
